Shortly before the "COVID" op launched, while still in the office, I engaged in a conversation with a woman who reported to me. She is a native of India, lovely woman, hard worker.
The discussion centered around "politics." She insisted that the government is in the business of managing people's lives (My snarky words, not what she said, 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚...). Like providing medical care.
Really? Funding it by taking others' money? What if the government provides a service that someone opposes, like abortion, for example? Is it right that a person have their taxes go to something they oppose on moral grounds? (I'm playing Devil's Advocate...) Of course, the answer is the usual -- We're all part of the society, in it together, all have to contribute, blahblahblah.
So, even if I oppose or don't want something, you think making others participate against their will is for the "greater good?" Uh, huh, she declared.
"May I ask you something?" I replied. "Sure!" she said.
Speaking slowly, looking right at her, I went ahead: "What do you think it is about you...that 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 you want to make 𝒎𝒆 want...what 𝒚𝒐𝒖 want?"
Deer in the headlights...
I think Dr. Sansone's book will answer that ↑ question. She is everywhere.
