Israel just wants the surrounding Arab countries to leave them alone. They've been inundated with bombs, rockets, missiles, etc., ever since their founding in 1948. They are defending themselves. There are many Arabs who live in Israel, and love it there. They do NOT want to live anywhere else. They are free to be themselves, make their own choices, etc., in Israel, but not in the surrounding Muslim countries. Arabs in Israel also serve in the Israeli government. Their women in Israel are free. If you ask any Arab living in Israel if they would like to live in any of the surrounding Arab countries, they will tell you a clear and resounding NO!!! Just ask yourself why that is.

The largest denomination of American Jews is Reform. They do in fact, practice Judaism by following the Torah. It is their sacred text, and every Reform temple has a Torah in its sanctuary. On holy days, the Torah is removed from its cabinet and carried around the congregation for people to touch.
The smallest denominations are Orthodox and Conservative Jews, who study the Talmud.
Actually, Sue, Reform doesn't observe Torah at all.
They approve of homosexuality, when it's quite clear in Leviticus 18:22, and Leviticus 20:13 that such behavior is an abomination to our creator.
Reform Jews also don't eat by the Biblical dietary laws. They eat pork and shell fish. I don't approve of all the "kosher" nonsense that Orthodox Judaism pushes. I go by what the Hebrew Bible actually says. It clearly tells us which foods are "clean", and which ones are "unclean". Reform Jews don't follow that at all. They eat whatever they want.
Reform Jews also don't honor the Sabbath. Some go to their Friday night service, and then just do whatever they want on the actual Sabbath (Saturday). Most Reform Temples don't even have services on the morning of the Sabbath. Some may do it once or twice a month, but that's all.
Yes, they bring out their Torah scrolls on Torah services, whenever they have them. They also bring them out on Holy Days. However, most Reform Jews don't even attend Temple services, except on those Holy Days, if even then.
Most Reform Jews don't read their Bibles. They don't even know what the Torah says. They just observe the "ceremonial" taking out of the Torah on certain days, and that's it. They never actually study it. I know Reform Jews who don't even believe that our Creator exists.
Yes, the smaller numbers in the USA are with the Orthodox and Conservative, but that's not the case outside of the USA. Orthodox are much greater in numbers outside of the USA, especially in Israel.
I don't approve of the Talmud. The entire "Oral Law" thing is man-made garbage. Have you ever tried to read the Talmud? I have. It's so full of nonsense that it's pathetic. Our Creator gave us the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings (The Tanach). It's easy to understand, if you don't read it with a Christian lens, like so many tend to do.
The Torah is clear on how we are supposed to conduct our lives. It gives many examples of how the Israelites totally screwed up, and how God dealt with them. We are supposed to learn from that, but sadly, very few do.

The Torah is quite clear that you're not supposed to "add to it or take away from it". Many of us HAVE studied the history of Israel. I was just a child, but I remember in the 50s that the new State of Israel invaded and occupied the Sinai peninsula, having stolen it from Egypt by way of military aggression. President Eisenhower told Ben Gurion to leave, and they did.
